The Hope Center began with nothing more than Faith and a Vision. At the age of 18 a young man was called into the ministry during an overseas crusade in Cape Town, South Africa. From
there he attended Bible College and was married. Upon graduation he and his wife moved to Louisville, KY to be associate pastors at Evangel World Prayer Center under Dr. Bob Rodgers. During his time in Kentucky the Holy Spirit began to deal with him about returning home to plant a church that would touch the heart of Hampton Roads through the OUTPOURING of the Holy Spirit and the unchanging Word, Power and Love of Christ.

After this encounter with the Lord, Pastor Jacob Martin along with his wife Heather made
preparations to move their very young family back to Virginia Beach and to launch the
Hope Center.

Even though the Hope Center is very young, the Holy Spirit is doing great things. Our age
groups vary from newborn all the way to 74. Our skin colors are various shades. Our
numbers are growing every week. Some might even say that our story is in a constant state
of growth and excitement, and that is the way it will always be.
