OUR VISION IS JESUS OUR MISSION IS REVIVAL

A NEW & EMERGING WINESKIN - THE PRESENCE BASED LIFEBy Jacob Martin

THE INESTIMABLE VALUE OF A PRESENCE-BASED LIFE

In our incredible journey of living out our calling (which is "on earth as it is in Heaven") and loosing revival, we must not forget where our strength comes from.  It comes from the Lord and valuing His Presence in all aspects of our life.

Here in Hampton Roads, we are growing into our destiny as a presence-based bride. The spiritual atmosphere of each prayer and expression of worship in our lives is infused with God’s presence and power.  While the flame of God’s presence is lit by our prayers, it is fueled into a raging fire by our rejoicing and thanksgiving (Ps 84:2, 4).  As our praise and worship ascend before God’s face like a sweet-smelling aroma, the King of all the earth is enthroned in our midst (Ps 47:7-8, 22:3, NASB).  The flow of our life and ministry should be oriented toward exposing the hearts of men to the surpassing excellence of God’s goodness (Ps 84:1-2; 2 Pe 1:17-18).  All of our choices, actions and ministry should stem out of the central reality of the Lord’s active involvement in our lives. In a presence-based life, Jesus is seen as the Lord of glory who pours out His Spirit and life on those who diligently seek His face.  A presence-based life by its very nature stirs up hunger for seeking intimacy with the Lord of Glory.  We who taste the goodness of God’s glory over time take on the attributes of His character and grow in inner strength to overcome evil in the last days (Ps 84:5).  The best fruit is grown in our hearts as we drink deeply and often at the fountain of God’s love that is revealed through His manifest presence (2 Cor 3:17-18).  The life that abides in the presence of God is motivated and empowered by the Spirit to fulfill its predestined purpose in Christ (Ro 8:11, 28-30).  As we are transformed into the image of Christ by beholding the King’s face, our lives will shine the light of life into darkened hearts like a beacon of hope set on a hill (Pr 16:15; Jn 8:12; Mt 5:14).

The Presence based Life should scream out to everyone we come in contact with, "O Taste and See that the Lord is good!"
